18m² is the biggest single glass sheet manufactured and since divided glass doesn’t look that nice we
had to develop a different system to be able to build larger
scrollers.
One of the biggest challenges was to withstand different environmental
conditions like strong winds and sandstorms.
We came up with an innovative system, stretching the images between
the upper and lower roll by using a patented, spring-loaded side-stretching
system.
On both vertical sides the images are applied with a special
keder (jonc) which leads the image through stainless-steel tracks
on each side. The tracks
are spring loaded to avoid too much tension on the poster connection
during
frequent wind blows.
In September 2000 we installed the first 12x3 meter (96-Sheet)
unit in London, UK , followed by several installations around
the globe. Depending on the height, the units can scroll up to
four images.
